Multiplayer only games, works as long as there's people to play. So maybe think about adding an option to communicate via text. The necessity for a mic, if there is no puzzles reliant on sound, is something akin to flipping the bird to deaf people. Would a game mode, that lets the player swap between two characters, really be so impossible? Not all puzzle games uses just one character, some time ago I played an escpae room type game where you switched between characters (a 1st person puzzle game), and it worked so well that I still remember the game. Some people don't have time when you want to play, and we all know from experience that when playing with strangers online the probability of them being a griefer is high. While you (the developers) have made a concept that works, the same concept does not work for everyone. I also very much do not like having to rely on others, when it comes to puzzle games. I have a problem with stuttering/stammering, and talking to others is a challenge.
